Assessing impact of cumulative environmental changes on migration flows

Description:
Better modelling capabilities would be developed which would identify the range of possible outcomes of current human activities, especially the interrelated impact of demographic trends and factor and major migration flows which may be expected with increasing climatic events and cumulative environmental change that may destroy people's local livelihoods.
Implementation:
This strategy features in the framework of Agenda 21 as formulated at UNCED (Rio de Janeiro, 1992), now coordinated by the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development and implemented through national and local authorities.
