Training scientists to manage large multidisciplinary research projects

Implementation:
This strategy features in the framework of Agenda 21 as formulated at UNCED (Rio de Janeiro, 1992), now coordinated by the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development and implemented through national and local authorities.

Agenda 21 recommends that, given the importance of good management of research resources for the successful completion of large multidisciplinary projects, continuing programmes of formal training should include managerial training as part of an overall programme of training of competent scientific personnel in the basic and applied sciences.
