Background
[Tyto sororcula] can be found on Buru and Tanimbar in the Moluccas, Indonesia, where it is presumed to occur in lowland forest. It is probably scarce, as it was not recorded during surveys of Buru in 1989 or Tanimbar in 1993.
Incidence
[Tyto sororcula] is listed on the Red List of the IUCN as a "Data Deficient" species.
