As an indication of the scale of the problem, the market for disposable infant nappies and towelling nappies in the UK in 1986 was £262.5 million. An estimated 500,000 UK children aged between 6 and 16 suffer from bed wetting (100,000 of them teenagers). Research has shown that an estimated 30% of enuretic children are punished after wetting their beds.
