Background:

This habitat has soil waterlogged during growing season. It is often covered with 2 to 3 feet of water and containing shallow lake basins and provides valuable waterfowl areas. The predominant vegetation is alkali hard-stemmed bulrush, widgeon grass and sago pondweed.
