Nature:

A mild form of tick typhus caused by the organism Rickettsia conori, which is probably identical with Rickettsia rickettsii. It is transmitted by a dog tick Rhipicephalus sanguineus.

Incidence:

The disease occurs in the south of France and along the north coast of Africa.
