Other Names: Addison's keloid
Nature: This form of scleroderma occurs on the face and hands, where it produces scar tissue that tightens the skin, thickening it and making joints ache. It can be fatal.
Incidence: Scleroderma attacks 14 people per million, and 80% of the victims are women.
