Identity cleansing

Nature:

Identity cleansing is defined as "confiscation of personal identification, passports, and other such documents in order to make it difficult or impossible for those driven out to return".

Incidence:
During the war in Kosovar, in 1999, it was reported that the Serbs were destroying all evidence of the Kosovars having ever lived in Kosovo - burning passports, identification cards and even confiscating license plates off vehicles.
