Memorial sculpture and construction

Template:
Sculpture and constructions are put on view which are commemorative of personages or events. Memorials include the Egyptian pyramids, churches, temples and mosques, tombs, hospitals, parks and gardens, and the term may apply to any public facility or amenities dedicated to the memory of an individual or group. The practice of erecting memorials has led to the infliction on society of some esthetic monstrosities by the actions of political cliques in office or by the affluent paying homage to themselves. Some memorials glorify the carnage of warfare, as by the erection of triumphal arches, for example.
