Science fiction

Template:
Stories that introduce fictitious scientific devices or theoretical knowledge, or that are situated in a future time, or that are placed somewhere other than among the terrestrial conditions that we are familiar with or know to exist, have been classified in this sub-genre of fantasy, yet many serious works of social criticism and prophecy also may be called science fiction. Since, however, there is little realism to mirror and judge the art, it is often unrestrained and has given rise to pulp magazines, inferior and juvenile films, and interminable television series with repititious and inane story lines. More seriously, science fiction supports u.f.o. credulity, schizoid, fantasies, and unscientific ideas about science, scientists and scientific methods and development.
