Publication

Template:
A form of presentation that has legal status is a publication, which by definition is the acts and processes required for the distribution of a work. Usually this work is a document, though varying from a sheet of music to a set of encyclopedias, for which copying or printing from an original is required. Publication affords the right of proprietary ownership under certain conditions, such as copyright application. Ownership of published copies may be effected by gratuitous transfer, sale, loan, lease or rental, or by exchange, or by issuance under public law. Public access other than by ownership or temporary possession may be had by posting published copies. Publication in all or any of its forms may require licensing for each individual work and may be subject to censorship. In dictatorial or statist regimes, any private publication may be forbidden and printing or copying equipment and facilities impounded or destroyed. Publication is the means by which human experience, knowledge and literary and visual art are communicated. It is also the means by which perversion, falsehoods and uninformed opinions are propagated.
