Psychodrama

Template:
A psychodrama is a dramatization by a patient in some forms of psychotherapy of a social situation in which he feels involved. He appears in the role he plays in real life, with the psychotherapist and other persons participating as actors. This therapeutic technique is also used in programs for group discussion of problems in social adjustment. It enables the patient to acquire a clearer perception of his problems and of his own reality and thus to cope with them more efficiently. Unfortunately, pseudo-psychodrama techniques are often engaged in by negligent or under-qualified professionals, with the result of creating stress or embarassment in patients.
