Annals

Template:
In a general sense, the term annals refers to any historical narrative. More specifically, it refers to a record of events arranged in chronological order or to a periodical which records the transactions of an organization. Since Taertus the form of history known as annals has shown several limitations. First is its usually official character which gives it a very definite bias and inclines it to be only a partial source of information. Second is the fact that the annalist does not take a synoptic view of the period of which he writes so that the general morphology of his history cannot be readily formed from his separate chronological entries.
