Team focalizer role

Other Names:
Chairperson
Facilitator
Moderator
Template:
An affinity-role played by one or more members of a group or team. In style they tend to be calm, confident, and controlled. They have the ability to encourage potential contributors and to input without prejudice.
[Advantages] They can recognize the strengths and weaknesses within the team and help to ensure that best use is made of each person's potential. A strong sense of objectives enables them to maintain the focus of the group's deliberations.
[Disadvantages] Although they can recognize talent in others, they tend not to have more than an ordinary intellect or creative ability. Focalizers or chairpersons have perhaps the greatest tendency to forget that they are one of many roles that make up a creative team and to fall into the trap of assuming they play the key role which can stifle and frustrate the participation of others.
