Patterns & Metaphors

Value-monger participant type

Template:
Conference participants who believe in and adhere to certain values and who feel the need to strongly encourage others to adopt these values.
[Advantages] Commitment to their own beliefs can become a strong force within a group that appears to accept the same values. They are useful in maintaining a position in a polarity that can generate genuinely creative tension.
[Disadvantages] Commitment to their own beliefs can become a divisive force within a group that does not wholeheartedly appear to endorse their values. This can be particularly difficult when decisions have to be made in moments of ambiguity and crisis, when conflicting values need to be balanced.
