An affinity-role played by one or more members of a small group or team. Typically rather curious and communicative, they are those who explore and report on ideas, developments and resources outside the group. They have an interest and a capacity for making contacts, exploring anything new, and responding to challenge.
[Advantages] A source of enthusiasm within the team. The contacts and "findings" from outside the group enrich and inform the group-process.
[Disadvantages] Once their initial fascination with something new is over they are liable to lose interest in it. Can be distracting and uncoordinated with the group.
