A versatile vertical display apparatus on which prepared items can be easily placed, moved, and removed. Originally made from stretched flannel to which could be "stuck" items backed with sandpaper. There are now many variations of this, including the use of velcro (hook and loop), special adhesive boards, magnetic boards, and other adhesion processes.
[Advantages] Elaborate, visual presentations, which can be built up progressively, and changed quickly during a talk and/or discussion. A "failproof" display tool that doesn't depend on electronics. Useful in situations where good diagrams are essential and cannot be presented in other ways.
[Disadvantages] Inflexible to the extent that items which are prepared in advance are difficult to change on the spot. In the world of hi-tech audio visual aids, this kind of display may in itself have a low-interest rating.
