Travelling microphone

Template:
A device used in meeting situations where there are no individual microphones for members of the audience, that enables the rapid delivery of a microphone to whoever wishes to speak. Methods include: carriers who take the microphone to the waiting participant, a microphone carried on an overhead track framework which can reach all parts of the room. Hanging mikes in each section of the room which can be lowered and passed to the speaker.
[Advantages] Less time and continuity is lost if participants can speak from the floor and not from the front platform. Suspended microphones can be delivered more quickly and with less trouble. A relatively simple system for suspending and delivering the mikes can be set up before most meetings.
[Disadvantages] The delivery of the microphone almost always causes delay and distraction.
