In Hinayana Buddhism, worry is regarded as a state of bondage or slavery. It is the state of mind after having done a vile act. Its characteristic is repentance and regret; its function is sorrow at what has or has not been done. It manifests as remorse or regret. The proximate cause is what has been done (deeds of commission) or what has not been done (deeds of omission).Context:
