Sleep

Description:
Sleep may be virtuous or non-virtuous. It is non-virtuous when it degenerates virtuous activity. The proper time for sleep is the middle watch of the night, when it should be with a desire to practice virtue and not motivated by affliction. It occurs when, powerlessly, the engagement of sense consciousness with objects is withdrawn inside.
Context:
One of the four changeable factors referred to in Tibetan Buddhism. These may be virtuous, non-virtuous or neutral depending on circumstances.<
