Light state of hypnosis

Description:
Although external stimuli are accepted by the subconscious without discrimination by the conscious mind, and the person involved is thus very open to suggestion, this is not so clearly a hypnotic state as the other, deeper states. The body may retain the standing or sitting position and the individual may converse with full awareness (although may not remember afterwards all that has been said). The condition may arise not only through hypnotic suggestion but also through intense concentration or full attention to a voice or other sound, a book or a television programme.
