Rida

Description:
Resulting from trust in God, this has been regarded (Al-Sarraj) as the last stage on the journey to God - nothing further may be attained through mystical effort. It is a state of blissful satisfaction granted by God to those close to him, whatever arises in their path towards God. The state may arise: from the point of view of man and his evenness in relation to God; from the point of view of God; from leaving the problem of whose side to God alone. There are no relationships and the Sufi is both at rest when he has nothing and unselfish when he has something.
Context:
The seventh stage in a systematic account of various stations of the Sufi spiritual path. However, it is the ninth stage on the path to sainthood of the Naqshbandiyya order. Also, according to Shaykh Abu Sa'id ibn Abi'l-Khayr, this is the ninth of 40 stations or maqamat the Sufi must possess for his journey on the path of Sufism to be acceptable.<
