Inner organ of mind

Description:
In Hindu philosophy, the inner organ of mind is that part of the mind with which: impressions are conducted from the external world and the thoughts - [manas]; discriminated - [buddhi]; and stored and remembered - [citta]. The [antahkarana] is activated by reflecting the consciousness of the one Self - [Atman]. However it is also the seat of the ego - [ahankara], where the feeling of "I am" as an individual - and subsequently of "I am something separate from the one Self" is based.
