Description:
This is the chakra at the level of [akasha] (ether) and thus of hearing. The soul is purged of any remaining attachment, leaving behind anything interposing between the hearer and the sound AUM, whether art, religion, philosophy or thought. Meditation on this chakra gives calmness, serenity, purity, a melodious voice, command of speech and mantras, ability to compose poetry, interpret scriptures, understand hidden messages in dreams. The person is youthful, radiant and a good teacher of spiritual sciences. Entering this chakra, the person becomes master of his entire self. All the elements dissolve in [akasha] (ether), so that only the tanmatras remain, the subtle frequencies of the elements. No longer is the distracting nature of the world, the senses and the mind a problem, as supreme reasoning overcomes the elements and the emotions of the heart. This is the plane of the follower of knowledge, the path leading to man's true birth in the divine state. The person is chitta, free from the fetters of the world, master of his total self. The chakra embodies [chit] or cosmic consciousness.Context:
