Mind consciousness

Description:
The Path of Purification (Hinayana Buddhism) describes mind-consciousness as of 22 kinds of mundane resultant consciousness. As mind element it is listed twice, without root cause, resultant with profitable or unprofitable result. As mind-consciousness element it is listed 3 times, without root cause: with profitable or moral resultant, accompanied by joy or accompanied by equanimity or indifference; with unprofitable or immoral resultant. Further, there are the sense-sphere resultant consciousnesses with root cause (8 kinds, as to whether accompanied by joy or equanimity, associated or not with knowledge, prompted or not); there are the fine-material sphere resultant (5 kinds) and the immaterial sphere resultant (4 kinds).
