Natural forces emblems
Description:
One of the archetypal emblems projected by the psyche is the figure of great natural strength. Usually this is depicted as a man, and sometimes also an animal, although an emblem of strength of will need not necessarily be masculine or brutally muscular. In the Tarot the emblem of Strength (number 11) lies just below the abyss between the individual and the universal. It is depicted as a woman holding open the toothy jaws of a beast. At this stage there is mastery over the animal soul. Animals are tamed by humans using courage and intelligence. Once it is tamed, the strength of the beast is at their disposal.Context:
In the Kabbalah, strength is assigned the 19th Path from force or judgement (Geburah) to mercy or kindness (Chesed).<
