Fifth scriptural bodhisattva awareness
Description:
This level is characterized by continuing to perfect the [bodhipasika] and by absorption in meditation - [dhyana] - and from this comes intuitive knowledge of [dharma] as truth, an understanding of the [four noble truths] and of the [two truths]. Knowing beyond doubt and uncertainty the proper way from the mistaken, there is infallible memory and an ability to write commentaries on scripture. What is "very-difficult-to-overcome" (sudurjaya), the fifth level bodhisattva is represented as accomplishing. He may express the dharma in the arts, designing gardens and outdoor and indoor theatres; and he may create tableaux, plays and games for edification.Context:
According to Tibetan Gelugpa Buddhism, the fifth level on the path appropriate to those working for the salvation of all, leading to Buddhahood and the ultimate consciousness.
