Angelic awareness - Michael

Description:
This mode of awareness may be considered the highest consciousness viewed in its dynamic mediating function between personal and transcendent being. The mind said to be "liberated by Michael" may rather release Michael from within itself as fire and light. As the "first" or foremost angel, this mode has been considered the expression of an utterly transcendent God (for example, the name Michael means, "God-like"), and thus corresponds to the ultimate threshold of personal consciousness. Michael has been regarded as the greatest of all angels, being considered chief of the Seraphim (the first order of angels), chief of the archangels, and prince of the Presence. He has been identified with Metatron and closely identified also with the Shekinah. The attributes assigned to Michael of active fire and light allow for his purging and destructive powers. Fire is alo the attribute of Metatron, the other personification of the supreme angel, who is also called "Moses' rod", a power giving both life and death.
Context:
Some Kabbalists affiliate Michael to tiphereth. In Islam, Mikal is somewhat subordinate to Djabrail (Gabriel) in role, although not hierarchically.<
