Fourth scriptural bodhisattva awareness
Description:
This state of awareness is characterized by practice of the middle way between philosophies of destructive asceticism and those of self-indulgence, and between doctrines of non-reality and those of reality of phenomena. This is called the flaming (arcis-mati) enlightenment. The bodhisattva has passed the need for beautiful expression of the dharma, and passed the wrangle of schools. He practises true exertion - [virya] - and perfects the mental qualities - harmonies with enlightenment or [bodhipaksika] - of which there are 37. No partisan, he welcomes all followers of the Buddha's path, all representations of truth.Context:
According to Tibetan Gelugpa Buddhism, the fourth level on the path appropriate to those working for the salvation of all, leading to Buddhahood and the ultimate consciousness.
