Karma awareness

Description:
Volitional action (karma, kamma) causes rebirth and shapes the destiny of beings. Karma, in Buddhism, is the intention of the will that creates a disposition or directedness in the mental factors as traits or tendencies that behaviour inclines to follow. Karma is the cause of results of actions, not the results themselves. To the extent that volition can be conceived apart from action it is termed [cetana] but it is karma nonetheless, from a different point of view. All consciousness has to have volition, hence karma. The cessation of personal, ego consciousness causes the cessation of karma, and the cessation of karma causes the cessation of re-birth.
