Interactional synchrony

Description:
Individuals in a group have a tendency to synchronize their behaviour, especially body language, without necessarily being consciously aware of this process. An individual is then said to be "in sync." Although individuals experience some degree of discomfort when they are not synchronized with each other, this existence of interactional synchrony is most clearly demonstrated by very detailed analysis of films of interactional behaviour.
