Seeing into self-nature

Description:
Although the Northern School of Dhyana, Shen-hsui's school, pays more attention to the body aspect of self-nature, with the aim of seeing body and mind as free from impurity and mediation as quiet contemplation, keeping watch over purity, the Southern School of Prajna, Hui-neng's school, looks on this as binding one's self with a self-created rope. In the latter schools, seeing into one's own nature makes it clear that body is only use, that there is no body in self-nature. Use is the body seeing itself in itself.
