Right acts

Description:
Right outlook and right speech bring right acts. This involves moral conduct, in particular abstaining from killing, stealing and lechery. The characteristic is originating or producing; the function is abstaining; manifestation is in abandoning wrong action.
Context:
One of the characteristics of the Eightfold Way of Buddhism attained with the path of bhavana (meditation) and which, together with right speech and right livelihood, constitutes ethical conduct (sila). One of the three jewels - [ratnatraya] - of Jainism.<
