Metta meditation

Description:
This is a form of meditation practised in [theravada] - [hinayana] Buddhism - and is used to develop detached benevolence and freedom from aggressive feelings. Feelings of kindness are directed first towards persons to whom one is close, but the scope widens to include all persons and beings, finally including those who are indifferent or even ill-disposed towards one.
