Free-thinking meditation

Description:
Free-thinking meditation consists of unbiased and unprejudiced investigation of the thoughts of one's inner self on a particular subject of spiritual or intellectual importance. The meditator writes down the ideas that come to mind when he or she concentrates on the chosen subject intelligently and with an open mind. This is followed by logical inquiry into the possible truth of these ideas when they are referred to the inner self. Thus the meditator learns his or her own inner reactions to ideas, unrelated to what has been heard or read by an authority on the subject. This brings insight and flexibility of mind and an ability to discriminate the truth from habitual ways of thinking and attractive ideas.
