Not-doing

Description:
The objective of not-doing is to produce an awareness for the "gaps" in between the elements of ordinary perception, allowing the underlying phenomenon of perceiving to become conscious of itself. In loosening the grip of the tonal, that is, stilling mental and emotional activity while "gapping" (perceiving non-perception within given perceptions), aspects of underlying nagual may become aware. Not-doing, although specifically outlined in works as C Castaneda's and the Tao Te King of Lao Tse, seems to be a general technique for stopping the activity of mind during activity which has acquired a number of different names and procedural directions.
