Mind

Description:
Inquiry into the function of the mind as distinct from the body, and its substantiality, spirituality and mortality, has developed into modern psychology. Despite the close connection between the mind and the bodily functions, for example the influence of mind on bodily sickness and health, their qualities are sufficiently different to posit the hypothesis that the mind could exist without the body and could survive physical death. The mind is also distinguished from the personality and from the soul in philosophic thought, and the continuance of soul after death of body/mind is another proposition.
