Using the telephone
- Making telephone calls
Context
In the near future cellular phones will connect to a dozen networks, with information coming in from surrounding services and the phone interrogating local networks for information. When guests walk into a hotel room, they can instruct their mobile phone to play jazz. The phone will then search the local networks to find a device that can carry out that task. The cellular phone will define where a person is both physically and virtually, in relation to the available network services.
Implementation
More than three quarters of households in all European Union countries had a telephone in 1995.
