Using telecommunications services

One third of the French adult population has access to the MINITEL system. In 1997 it had 110 million connection hours/year. It is estimated that provision of the equivalent services in conventional manner would have consumed 11,000 tonnes of oil. It is estimated that in 2005 the French consumption of teleservices will amount to FF 200 billion.
