Training decision-makers in use of environmental economics

Context

Environmental economics can be put to good use, for instance, to stress the high economic value of environmental goods and services, and the high costs of poor environmental management or inaction.

Implementation

This strategy features in the framework of Agenda 21 as formulated at UNCED (Rio de Janeiro, 1992), now coordinated by the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development and implemented through national and local authorities.
