Reducing waste at source

There is now growing recognition that waste elimination at source is the only long-term solution to waste disposal problems. Industry is beginning to realise that real savings can be made by changing raw materials or production processes so that wastes generated are either reduced, eliminated or converted into non-hazardous or recyclable materials.
