Re-empowering sacred objects
Description
Giving man appropriate corporate symbols imaging his contingency and interrelatedness to create a unified consciousness that enables concerted action toward common goals.
Implementation
Tactics include: releasing spiritual awareness, planning public exposure, creating unifying symbols, uncovering universal relatedness, and designing space-time ontology.
Claim
Species may be profoundly important for cultural and spiritual reasons. By viewing local flora and fauna as a sacred heritage -- by recognizing their intrinsic value -- we discover who we are rather than what we want. On moral and cultural grounds society might be justified in making great economic sacrifices -- removing hydroelectric dams, for example -- to protect remnant populations of the Snake River sockeye, even if, as critics complain, hundreds or thousands of dollars are spent for every fish that is saved.
