Proclaiming revolution

Description

Proclaiming the basic ideas of political, religious or other ideological revolt in a document for publication.

Context

Examples of the strategy include Luther's Theses, the Declaration of Independence of the USA, and the Communist Manifesto.

Implementation

The large scale reproduction and distribution of proclamations of which the three cited above are good examples had world-wide influence.

Claim

Proclamations associated with successful revolutions have been used to incite revolution elsewhere.

Counter-claim

Conditions which produce a revolution in one country may be particular to it. The exporting of revolution for its own sake or for the institution of some supranational ideology by using proclamations and manifestos is simply an enticement to civil war, crime and terrorism.
