Fearing nuclear war

Context

The nuclear bombing of Japan during the Second World War has stood and stands as a terrible warning of the cost of nuclear war. Since then, the number and the power of nuclear weapons have increased enormously, to the point that their combined unleashed power could destroy life on the planet several times over. With these reflections in mind, many people have lived in fear of a nuclear war. This fear is a "deterrent", to either use nuclear weapons, or to keep nuclear weapons.

Claim

No nation that has possessed nuclear weapons has used them since World War II to win a war, even if they lost a war.
