Facilitating transfer of marine pollution control technology to developing countries

Implementation

This strategy features in the framework of Agenda 21 as formulated at UNCED (Rio de Janeiro, 1992), now coordinated by the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development and implemented through national and local authorities.

Agenda 21 recommends the establishment of a clearing-house for information on marine pollution control, including processes and technology to address marine pollution control, and support for their transfer to developing and other countries with demonstrated needs.
