Controlling use of fertilizers
Context
Fertilizers are chemicals which are used on agricultural land to raise land fertility in order to increase agricultural yield per unit land. However, their mismanagement by, for-instance, over-application can lead to detrimental environmental impacts such as eutrophication of water resources. It is considered that fertilizer licensing, handling and application need to be controlled by properly enforced and monitored regulations.
Implementation
In Denmark, fertilizer plans are required.
