Controlling sexually transmitted diseases amongst young people
Context
Each year, 1 out of every 20 teenager contracts a sexually transmitted disease (STD). Some STDs can cause lifelong disabilities, such as infertility, or even death. In countries characterized by male dominance or machismo, young men are encouraged to initiate sexual activity at early ages, often with prostitutes, which puts them at a greater risk of STD infection.
