Conserving endangered species of mammals

The World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF) has cooperated with the Kenyan government and other agencies in setting up the Lake Nakuru National Park Rhino Sanctuary. Solar powered electric fences have now been erected around the sanctuary, and 28 black rhinos as well as two white rhinos (the only two in Kenya) have been settled there. It is reported that breeding prospects are good. Action plans for African elephants and rhinos, Asian elephants and rhinos, primates, cats and polar bears have been published by UNEP and IUCN.
