Conducting surveys on the health and nutrition of women
Context
This strategy features in the framework of Agenda 21 as formulated at UNCED (Rio de Janeiro, 1992), now coordinated by the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development and implemented through national and local authorities. Agenda 21 suggests that baseline surveys should be carried out, together with knowledge, attitude and practice studies on health and nutrition of women throughout their life cycle, especially as related to the impact of environmental degradation and adequate resources.
