Compensating victims
Implementation
In December 1993 the UN Compensation Commission began the process of resolving compensation claims resulting from Iraq's invasion and occupation of Kuwait. This initiative was expected to cover some 1,000 claims relating to death and serious personal injury. The claims were expected to result in a total payment of US$ 3 to 5 million in April 1994 and US$ 100 million to US$200 million in July 1994.
